Lizz Russell has always had a creative side but the business side was harder for her to come up with.
Now, though, Russell is selling her high fashion purses at hotels in Las Vegas and San Diego  She made the jump with the help of the San Diego Minority Supplier Development Council.
“They have various opportunities for small businesses like myself,” said Lizz Russell with The Lizz Russell Collection. “That’s how I got my contract with the MGM, was through the council.”
The idea behind the Minority Supplier Development Council is to offer access and exposure between minority-owned companies and major businesses and corporations. The council also helps small businesses take steps to improve and prepare for growth.

Corporations that are looking for qualified minority owned businesses will also work through the council to find certified companies.  The San Diego Minority Supplier Development Council works with African-American-, Latino-, Asian- and native American-owned companies.
